Rating: Grade 5.  Narrow between trees for the first section, then a very steep descent with many roots to a saddle.

Know before you go: There is no water on this track. Be prepared for cold conditions on the ride up. 

Unhinged is accessed from Wots up Doc off the Beebys 4wd road. It is rated grade 5 with 700m of descent. The top part of Unhinged utilises the existing Beebys Knob walking track which twists and turns down through tight, moss floored beech forest. At the 1040m level the grade steepens considerably with rooty drops and tight turns around trees. Some riders may choose to walk some sections. At 900m the track drops into a saddle and climbs 30m to where a new 2.4km section of track (more of a grade 4) heads south climbing a little along a ridge before twisting down through mature beech forest to spit you out on the Tophouse–Kikiwa Road opposite Waireka Rd.

It is a good idea to start at Waireka Rd end and ride through Tophouse Rd to the start of Beebys 4wd road so your ride ends on a downhill note. There is about 135m of climbing through Tophouse Rd to Wots up Doc.
