From Wakefield ride west on the Dovedale road for a couple of kilometres then branch off on the Pigeon Valley South Branch Rd. Just before a one way concrete bridge turn left on to Bradleys Road. Climb up Bradleys Rd to the top and turn right on Golf Rd. Stay on Golf Rd which follows a ridgeline until you come to Crowes Rd. Turn left down Crowes Rd and follow it until it drops down and crosses a small creek. A couple of hundred metres later you will come to Hoult Valley. If you can't face another hill climb turn right and cross a gate out on to Hoult Valley Rd.

Otherwise turn left and follow the road, which is a bit scoured out, up Hoult Valley crossing the creek and after 400 metres start climbing a hill. Turn left at the top of the hill and continue along a ridge top to the intersection with Golf Rd. The signpost has a 5km marker on it. Turn right here and follow Golf Rd east right out to the Dovedale Rd and back to Wakefield.
